Up to this point, you might not have known it, but Maeve has been run out of two storage units. We’ve kept everything we could in those units. Since day one, we’ve been looking for a space to utilize that would be raw, allow for showing our pieces, and be affordable as we slowly get our feet wet in this new business…
Well, we this weekend, after searching high and low, and finding buildings that were really expensive and dirt cheap, we decided on a new place to call home for a bit.
Meet Mr. Berry. The Berry Building is our new home. Suite 102.
Isn’t he handsome? His story is pretty cool too. The Berry Building was originally the American Fork and Hoe Company and then later and more well known as the Wayne Candies building who were famous for making Bunn candy bars. In fact, the large Bunn candy billboard can still be seen on the East End of the building. The building is located at the corner of East Berry St. and Anthony Blvd next to the railroad tracks, Maumee River, and pathway.
Lofts and spaces in the building have been restored featuring former original surfaces that are nearly 100 years old. Exposed Brick, Beams, and Columns are all raw and very vintage in appeal.
Our space, is just that… a Storage Space. It’s going to be our warehouse for the time being. Soon, we’ll have it loaded up with our pieces to share by appointment – some of which we already have scheduled – and hopefully soon after that, we’ll find a space where the rest of our vision can come to fruition! Until then, here’s our blank canvas…
We are planning ways to decorate and warm up the space so that it’s more inviting. There are other spaces around us that are utilizing the storage aspect as well and they aren’t so pretty… So please excuse those messes when you come visit us! Taking appointments now! Hopefully our décor and design of the space will make you forget about what else is going on around us down there…
Next stop… The Fort Wayne Bridal Extravaganza on Feb 22nd! See you there!
